Make UTM data accessible in a range of contexts
Make UTM data available:
- In Journeys as trigger (anyone, anonymous or known, clicks a link with UTM) and condition (filter in a journey based on UTM)
Example use (only one of many): Incentive/referral programs where a user clicks on a link that contains a UTM with UID for another user to be able to trigger an email to the referring user notifying them that another user clicked their unique referral link.
In reports (AP needs a proper report function anyway, not just for emails sent)
We should be able to download the Activity Stream in csv (which does have the UTM data

Autopilot should treat UTM parameters like regular fields on contacts. Why they are hidden by default and only accessible via Smart Segment is a mystery to me.
It makes the data very difficult to access and in some cases unusable.
E.g. I use customer IDs in my referral marketing program. The customer IDs are embedded into URLs as Campaign Source UTMs. To track customer referrals using UTMs I'd need to create a new smart segment every time we add a new customer - that's not practical.
Give me my data!!!

Would be great if we could parse any kind of parameter actually, not only the ones formatted as "standard UTM parameters" (i.e. utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), and create smart segments based on these. I believe it should be pretty easy to implement.
Here at Instapage for example we have a ton of affiliate links w/ non-standard UTM parameters and it would be great to being able to segment users based on these.

Couldn't agree more!
I made the mistake of assuming this was already there - my business is about creating & managing UTM tracking links...
