Let me edit the name and criteria of my smart segments without duplicating them.
I have some smart segments that are integrated within journeys and stuff that I already have scheduled. I want to edit the criteria of one of my smart segments, but the only way to do this is to duplicate. If I duplicate, then I'll need to re-integrate the new smart segment, which takes a bit of time. Editing the criteria would keep any smart segments that are integrated in journeys the same without needing to adjust anything else.

This is so frustrating. We make one change in our CRM to Autopilot setup, and we have to re-create everything. Huge inconvenience.

What everyone said before - this is a long overdue feature. A response from autopilot would be welcome?

I have upvoted this and alternatively, provide a report that lists all journeys, and the triggers used in each one. Then at least we can create a list of Journeys that need revisiting after a segment is updated.

Tooootally agree with this!! Just submitted this to support and they encouraged me to come over here and submit my idea. This is a huge downfall. You can't even edit the name of the segment without duplicate it!

From the docs it sounds like this was implemented by design to avoid inadvertently affecting journeys that are using the segment being edited. For example, if you change the criteria, any journeys would immediately respond to all new contacts who now meet the criteria of that segment which may have unintended consequences.
Seems like a solution would be to display in the UI which Journeys are using the segment being edited, and give the user the ability to say "yes, please publish these changes and allow my journeys to trigger off any new contacts" (in not so many words maybe ;-). Or, simply give the option to pause/deactivate any journeys using that segment so then you can choose to go back in and re-activate manually if needed. Again, being very clear to the user about what's happening so you're not just pausing journeys in the background without letting the user know.

Hard to understand why this can't be done. Can someone from Autopilot support at least respond here?

+3 - this seems like a glaring miss in the basic features

This seems ridiculous that a customer has to request this, and that it wasn't part of initial system design.
There are Unique IDs for the segments, so why are the displayed Names locked once set.
I understand that unique name is a current reason, but this seems very much like technical debt that is far past due.
Our Teams have to spend far too much time duplicating a segment to edit, then saving under a new name, (which we try to maintain a consistent naming convention). then replacing the prod segment twice. Once - for where the previous segment was being used. so that it can be deleted. then secondly, after duping the new (placeholder segment) so that it can be named with the desired name.
This is frustrating and painful, all so that we can be more organized and the platform more and better.

This is desperately needed. We use a suppression list and if we want to update it, we have to duplicate the segment, delete the old one, and update all the journeys.
Any update or ETA on this? -

Yes, please. This is a constant source of aggravation having to duplicate and edit, then delete the prior one. It is part of the reason Autopilot gets so cluttered and hard to manage.

#1 request for me so far. This is a real pain point. Having to update any journey where a segment is used to update the segment is manageable a few months in, but I'm really not going to want to deal with it in 10 months when I have 100 journeys and who knows how many segments.

Hey @autopiliot, isn't this a dupe of https://autopilothq.uservoice.com/forums/284270-autopilot-feedback-forum/suggestions/10838538-add-feature-to-rename-smart-segments
